When the seal on the glass unit fails and the argon between the panes leaks out, the interior glass runs cold — you're basically back to the performance of the window you just replaced. Warm indoor air hits that cold glass, and water condenses. That constant moisture on sills and frames is what allows mold to grow on the surrounding drywall.
